2009. Well Done!
We all know
that BVS is moving forward. In the summer of 2006, the Managing
Committee of the
BVS Parsi High
school decided to increase the school’s capacity and functioning.
This was in keeping with the vision of the founders and in order to
meet the ever increasing demands of modern education to do so, the
class strength of the students that in many cases exceeded 45
students, had to be reduced so that the teachers were in a position
to give maximum attention to the students. In order to accomplish
this, a section had to be added to each grade and thus new
classrooms were constructed over the Sukhia Block. The old and
narrow balconies of the Limbuwala block that had now become safety
hazards to the more than 600 students that were using the classrooms
in that block were completely rebuilt and also extended to 10 feet
wide corridors. This phase I of the new construction was completed
in the summer of 2007.
In keeping with
the wishes of the previous chairman Lt Col (Retd) Maneck P.
Soparivala, the management of the BVS decided to introduce Cambridge
in the school in August 2006.This necessitated the construction of
phase II where in the old toilet block was demolished in order to
add six more classrooms for the Cambridge section two toilet blocks
(one each for the primary and the secondary students), two staff
rooms and a head of department room for the Cambridge section, the
third phase of the construction will now see 4 more classrooms,
three new science labs, for the Cambridge section, one audio-visual
room and a multi-purpose hall for the whole school. The project for
the summer of 2009 was the renovation of the three old science labs
in the main building. The BVS is moving forward as quickly as
possible to modernize its facilities and believes its importance to
look ahead. We are required to stay abreast with the needs of modern
education and have a forward looking vision and concept for the
school.
The first term
academic results are Quaid-e-Azam house with 92 points, Rezashah
house with 87 points, Lancelot house with 79 points and Soparivala
house with 72 points.
To encourage
our students to save money BVS joins hands with Bank-Al-Habib Young
Savers Account where the children have opened their own bank
accounts. They will be placing their desk for monthly deposit
collection from students on monthly basis, i.e. 15th of
every month However, any school activity- event- public holidays
falling on this date would be adjusted with the school’s consent.
The school will
be pleased to accept any donations and contributions to the Seth
Shahpurji H. Soparivala Student Support Fund to financially assist
deserving student (as determined by the managing committee. Those
interested may contribute to this fund by depositing their
contribution in any branch of the Standard Chartered Bank in favour
